FlutterFlow MCP Is Here

The most requested feature in FlutterFlow history has finally landed.

You can now bring AI agents directly into FlutterFlow and switch between them. Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, or any MCP-compatible client. Your agent works within your project with full context for your widgets, logic, and data sources, not as an external tool you copy-paste results into.

Why it matters

Until now, using AI with FlutterFlow meant working across two surfaces. You'd prompt an agent in one window and manually apply the results in another. That friction adds up fast, especially on complex projects.

MCP closes that gap. Your agent is in the loop, understands your app's structure, and acts on it directly. The result is faster iteration, more accurate output, and a workflow that feels native rather than bolted on.

Your agent, your choice (BYOA)

Because MCP is an open standard, you're never locked into a single provider. Switch between Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, or any other MCP-compatible client. Whatever fits your team's workflow.

App Events are here!

App Events let different parts of your app communicate without being directly wired together. Instead of complex callback chains or manual state updates, you can broadcast a named event from anywhere and have other parts of your app respond automatically.

How it works:

  • Trigger a named event (like "Cart Updated") from any action flow

  • Any page or component can listen and react — without knowing about each other

  • Attach structured data to events using FlutterFlow DataTypes

  • Manage everything with three actions: Trigger, Add Handler, and Cancel Handler

Two scopes to fit your needs:

  • Global - handled in one centralized place, always active. Great for connectivity changes, auth state, or logging.

  • Local - pages and components subscribe individually and react on their own. Perfect for syncing dashboard tabs or refreshing related UI. Subscriptions clean up automatically when a page is removed.

You can find App Event Documentation here: App Events Documentation

Introducing FF Designer: Production-Quality Editable Screens in Seconds

Hi everyone,

Recently, we committed to faster innovation and better communication, and we're excited to announce what we've been working on: FF Designer.

What is FF Designer?

FF Designer is an AI design tool that generates high-quality screens in seconds, with the full editing control you expect from FlutterFlow.

Here's what makes it powerful:

  • Generate and edit screens in seconds using natural language prompts.

  • Edit every component with familiar visual editing capabilities.

  • Import directly to FlutterFlow when you're ready to build. Or export screenshots and context to use in your AI workflows.

  • Free to use – we want your feedback.

Why We Built This

Many of you asked how our AI work with Dreamflow would benefit FlutterFlow users. FF Designer is part of that answer. We took what we learned about AI-powered generation and built it into a tool that serves both our community and anyone who needs production-quality app designs fast.

Whether you're prototyping ideas, getting a head start on your FlutterFlow projects, or just need design assets, FF Designer gives you speed without sacrificing control. You can copy paste pages/widgets directly from FF Designer into FlutterFlow! We've been getting a ton of feedback on it already and are excited to make it an even tighter integration with FlutterFlow. As a standalone app, we can make multiple launches a week without affecting FlutterFlow's stability.

Try It Now

https://designer.flutterflow.io/

Can't wait to hear what you build with it. Your feedback has shaped everything we do, and this launch is just the beginning of what we have planned for 2026. It's gonna be an exciting journey ahead!

A FlutterFlow Update + FFDC Save the Date

Hey FlutterFlow community,

We owe you transparency and an acknowledgment that we could have communicated better over the past six months. Many of you noticed and told us that when we started working on Dreamflow, FlutterFlow innovation slowed down.

Here's what happened: We believe AI-powered development is the future, and we wanted to bring it to FlutterFlow. But the kind of frequent releases and foundational changes we needed to make to the system then would create instability. We faced a choice: risk disrupting the platform you depend on daily, or build AI capabilities separately where we could experiment without breaking what works.

We chose to build Dreamflow as a separate product to protect FlutterFlow's stability while iterating on the vision with AI. That decision was right for the platform, but we didn't communicate it clearly.

What's Next: Here's What's Changing

  • We’re working on many features you've been asking for - more on this soon

  • Faster iteration cycles and more frequent updates

  • Increased resources and engineering focus on FlutterFlow

  • Better, more transparent communication with this community

FFDC 2026 – Save the Date: May 27-28, 2026

We're excited to announce FFDC 2026 this May in San Francisco! We'll be sharing our full roadmap, unveiling new features, and bringing our community together. More details will come soon but we can't wait to see you there and show you what we've been building.

Thank You

Thank you for your patience and your continued feedback, here and in our last survey. The passion you have for FlutterFlow pushes us to be better, and we don't take that for granted.

Abel, Alex & the FlutterFlow Team

P.S. We know actions speak louder than words. Watch for updates on our roadmap and FFDC details in the next couple of weeks! 👀
