As a solo indie developer, I wanted to solve a problem I kept running into: seeing a scene from a movie or show (usually on Instagram, or TikTok) and having no idea what it's from. I also got tired of existing movie tracking apps being cluttered with ads or paywalled to the point of frustration. So I built Limelight—a clean, ad-free experience for discovering and tracking what you watch.
The standout feature is SceneSnap—snap a photo or share a clip directly to the app, and AI identifies what you're watching. It's powered by Google's Gemini API and was honestly one of the trickiest things I've tackled in FlutterFlow (video compression, base64 conversion, and making it all feel instant).
Other features include QuickSort (swipe right/left on recommendations like Tinder to train your taste), smart watchlist management across streaming platforms, and a distraction-free interface that stays out of your way.
Built entirely in FlutterFlow with custom widgets where needed. Happy to answer questions about the AI integration, the UX decisions, or any of the technical hurdles—learned a ton building this one.
