Can you just by pass the Visio "no code coding" and write the code?

I know how to code, I just want to use the GUI design aspects and write the code myself.

Editing "actions" and all this in Visio like diagrams is just as painful as, well editing Visio diagrams.

What have you tried so far?

looking for how to get around using the Visio editor, that is a deal breaker for all the reasons that everyone that knows how to code knows.
