Comment Thread Vertical Line

When building threaded comments, what is the best way to integrate vertical lines to represent the thread? I want the height of the line to dynamically adjust according to the height of the comment itself, and I'd love the first threaded comment to have a curvy line coming off of the original post. Any help is appreciated! Thank you in advance!

What have you tried so far?

"Vertical Divider" does not work unless there's a defined height (and doesn't help with the curvy line either).

Using a Container to fake a line, doesn't work for the same reason as Vertical Divider.
