Deep Disappointment with the Rejection of My FlutterFlow Marketplace Submission

Widgets & Design

Dear FlutterFlow Team,

I’m writing this message out of deep frustration and disappointment.

Two months ago, I submitted a custom video player to your Marketplace — a component I spent over 8 months developing. It’s not just any video player; it’s designed specifically to fill a massive gap in your platform. Around 80% of apps use video features, yet the video players currently on your Marketplace are either poorly made, severely limited, or hidden behind unnecessary paywalls. Mine was free, high-quality, and built with real developers in mind.

What’s even more frustrating is the reason I received for the rejection: that my component "does not meet FlutterFlow standards." Frankly, that’s ridiculous. I’ve reviewed many components on the Marketplace, and several of them — including top-listed ones — are outdated, buggy, or simply not worth their price. Meanwhile, my component was reviewed by an experienced software professor, improved through collaboration with multiple developers, and praised by every tester who tried it.

I wasn't looking for money or fame. I was offering something useful to the community — something that would save users time, energy, and frustration. And instead, it was brushed off as not good enough. That’s not just disappointing — it’s insulting.

If the Marketplace prioritizes subpar paid components over truly helpful free tools, then maybe it's time to rethink what “standards” really mean.

I’m not writing this because I care about being accepted anymore. I’m writing this because I care about developers who will now have to struggle to manually implement something I already built — something that could have genuinely helped them.

What have you tried so far?
