How can i control the audio of the videoplayer?

I want to have a video play at the beginning of the app. I would like it to start as soon as the page loads. The problem is that it always starts muted. Is there any way to control the volume of the video player?

I tried creating a custom widget but ran into so many bugs that i gave up.

There has to be a way with the standard widget. It a very basic feature to control the audio of a player.
