How do I define 'asc' or 'desc' when generating children and applying 'sort'?

I am using the ListView and the generated children.

The list has an option to sort by a DataType field, but I don't see how to define whether sorting is 'asc' or 'desc'.

What have you tried so far?

I clicked around in the UI under sort, but couldn't find a way to define how sorting is done.
