How to add Widget to Image package

I have a widget that I would like to save as an image. I found this package but I'm a bit confused on how to set it up. I assume I need a custom action that is trigged when the "Save image" button is pressed.

But how do you pass in a widget as a parameter? I don't understand how the controller is created.
