how to do relation and use doc reference datatype

i try to add a list of student who are enrolled to the co-curriculum. the student uid in the list<string> are same as the uid in the users database. and i want to show the list of the students name after pick it in the add student.

What have you tried so far?

i tried making the doc ref of the users in co-curriculum and try to call it, but i failed.
i try to do the reference in the cloud firestore database but also fail.
