issue with displaying user profile picture

In my onboarding process I've tried to implement and upload profile photo. I've tried in 2 different backend ways 1. store media then update firebase and 2. upload save media to Firebase, app state, then backend call.

In everything I do my images show with the error "[object XMLHttpRequestProgressEvent]" both on the upload page and My Profile page. Although my images URL's are uploading to Firebase they won't display properly.

What have you tried so far?

I've deleted and re-done this 5 times, all different methods of image uploads. I've spoke to 3 AI assistants and gone through usual troubleshooting. I've updated the firebase storage rules. I know this is a simple task but it's driving me crazy and would really really appreciate any help!
