Material design 3 creates a transparency i can't control. help!

Hi,

After turning Material Design 3 on, i get a transparency on my menu that i cant control. Any ideas on how to deal with this. It happens on all my screens.

What have you tried so far?

tried identifying the widget that controls the color, but i cant find it.
