Need help exporting project

I'm on the free plan and I need to export my project so I can work on it somewhere else I am trying to make this project for free so I can't upgrade, downloading the code used to be free for me can you guys find anyways around this or can any of the team please make this feature free.

What have you tried so far?

I clicked on the development menu and clicked Download Code but it says I have to upgrade and well I'm not considering upgrading unless I can actually test my app and see if exporting works well.
