Remove annotations from RETURN API MESSAGE

Hello. I am developing a custom chat bot using OPEN AI. I copied it from a youtube video step by step but when I get the messages back I get a in my responses text similar to [\d+\], or 4:1 â sourcã. I want my app to clean the messages before posting it and not see the source annotation/citation.

What have you tried so far?

I asked ChatGpt for a custom function or action. As an function I could not save it, and as an action it does not seem to work.
