Testing changes is really slow

Troubleshooting

Hi,

I am new to FlutterFlow (coming from Bubble). It has been about a week into developing here.

While I find some of the in built widgets and features quite helpful, I am getting quite frustrated with the ability to test changes that we make to the app.

What I see is:

Publishing to web

  • Publish to Web keeps circling forever

  • Even when I get a toast notification that it is done, it still keeps circling

  • Even after it is done, I don't see latest page when I go to the web url. Making me wonder whether I made mistake in my changes, did I put some logic for visibility of elements correctly or not etc.

  • I changed texts slightly to see if the version is getting updated, but it was not.

Test mode

  • In test mode, I can't navigate to pages or view dynamic data directly on a page

  • Test mode also takes long time to open

  • There is not much difference between Instant Reload and launching test again.

And this is while I am mostly playing with the editor as of now and app is really small. Wonder what would happen when app becomes heavier.

How are we supposed to make changes, test and iterate?

Am I missing something?

Am I doing something wrong?

As of now it seems like a cultural shock to me as in Bubble, the previewing changes is instantaneously. No "building, preparing your app....", test mode, run mode etc.

Thanks,
Mukesh

What have you tried so far?

Checked forum. Checked with AI tools. Tried different options in the editor. Tried desktop version of editor.

Tried waiting!
