Visual Studio Code (VSCode) Extension setup problems

I am new to FlutterFlow, I am attempting to use the Visual Studio Code Extension. I installed the extension, generated the API key and found my project ID. When I try to download the project in VSCode, I get 2 error message toasts:
Export failed: Unexpected error from the server. Source: FlutterFlow: Custom Code Editor
Error downloading project: undefined Source: FlutterFlow: Custom Code Editor

What have you tried so far?

I followed the documentation here: https://docs.flutterflow.io/concepts/custom-code/vscode-extension

I have tried multiple download locations on my Windows machine (with and without long folder addresses).

I have double checked the API key and the Project ID (which ends in yiv3w5).
