Why is my FAB shape square and not able to change it to circle.

I dragged a FAB onto the screen, but it’s showing up as a square instead of a circle. I don’t see any option in the FAB or icon properties to change its shape. Isn’t the default FAB shape supposed to be circular? Why is mine square?

What have you tried so far?

I set the FAB color to match the background to make it invisible and changed the icon inside to a circular plus sign. But when I hover over it, the original square shadow still appears. How can I remove that. I would prefer to have the FAB original circle shape.
