how would I put subcategories in this events subcollection if the categories are already a list of strings. I could have another list of subcategory strings but they wouldn't be related to each other
Document reference isn't really useful in this case because it doesn't allow one to reference the documents in another collection say in a form. And yes it has to be done this way as it allows advertisers to create multiple advertisement. Same for service providers
