How may I set appstate variable from Backend Query ?

I know how to set widget fields from data in a page Backend Query but don´t know how may I set appstate variable from the same Backend Query.

There ins´t an variable "response" as at a regular query

So, I have to use an "invisible" input field to store te value that comes from te query.

May someone help me with a better solution ?
