Action Blocks are unable to reset from fields

Why Action Blocks are unable to reset from fields ?
Is there any way to use custom functions for this use case ?

Edit: I would like to show what i am trying to do here... please look at the image to get an idea

I am making a cricket scoring app
I want to swap the dropdowns "Select Striker" and "Select non-striker" automatically whenever buttons like "1" , "3" , "5,7" or a wide or nobe or byes with odd number runs are scored.

When i try to make it an action block i cannot set the form fields in both app level and page level.
It says Invalid Action.

Do i need to use Custom Actions or Functions for this or is there any simpler way that went above my head.
