FlutterFlow will limit the amount of projects per account in a future update. PLEASE DON'T.

Feedback

I just got a survey that suggest that FlutterFlow is thinking about limiting the amount of projects an account can actively work on each month. The fact that this made it to a survey suggests that this is something that is already being worked in some way, shape or form. Even the wording of the options A, B and C seem like just a survey that is already trying to get a biased response were we don't really have an option to go against the idea but just tell them how we prefer to pay more to get rid of these upcoming limits. This is worrying for many reasons and that's why I make this post.

  1. As an entrepreneur, I see flutterflow as my creative canvas. I constantly work on and explore new ideas, some of them are small personal projects that I use either as training (working and testing concepts, integrations and widgets that my main projects don't really need, in order to get familiarized with FlutterFlow as a tool and maybe find new ways to improve existing projects or think about new ones). Limiting the amount of projects would completely kill the creative freedom for individual users like me.

  2. This would be subscription model at its worst. Imagine Lightroom only allowing us to edit 3 pictures, or Disney+ allowing us to only watch 3 movies, Google Workspace allowing us to send just 3 emails or creating only 3 Google Docs/Sheets, Premiere Pro only letting us edit 3 videos, etc. For the lack of a better way to describe it: it is just ridiculous.

  3. Flutterflow already has a way to pursue fair use. Teams and organizations are a great way to ensure that big projects and businesses pay more for the amount of hands involved (hence the amount of use of the platform), if for some reason this is not working or getting out of hand, then FlutterFlow should find ways to fix this WITHOUT affecting individuals freedom. Let's be honest, one person/user can only do so much, I don't think we could ever abuse the use of FlutterFlow unless some individuals are sharing their accounts credentials and using them as an alternative for teams, if that is the case, I wouldn't mind having a limited amount of devices per account each month instead.

I don't mind paying for FlutterFlow as is, even if most of my projects never see the light of day, as a creative, I love having the FREEDOM of working on my dreams as they evolve, change or grow. And of course, even tho I sometimes don't have the time to work on my projects for months, I do it to support the platform. So please reconsider these limits.

I hope this does not feel like an attack on the platform or the team. I love FlutterFlow, I love the idea of opportunities and possibilities being democratized for individuals like me that could only dream on being able to create things that used to require knowledge that we did not have either because we choose a different career path or just did not have the resources, but are still passionate about code and tech. If these changes take effect, I would sadly have to cancel my subscription and give up on the platform since I won't really have a use for it.
