Integration of Payment Gateways like Stripe and Razorpay Without Firebase ?

To use payment integrations such as Stripe and Razorpay, why must we need to have Firebase? What if my project is not using Firebase and entirely relies on a custom backend? How would I integrate Stripe and Razorpay functionalities in this scenario?
