Well that are two very different questions as one is concering backend and one frontend. Firebase along its services with firestore and firestorage and others are google products. the great thing about nosql databases like firestore is their virtually infinite scaling potential. you are however charged per read and write after a good amount of free actions per day/month. So please review pricing. Technically the answer is clear: no, there are no limits on database size. Single documents however have limits like...1mbit of size, 1000 fields etc. These are also \"virtual\" limits as you will not approach them in any means if you are doing even the worst in development^^ For these \"limits\" please review this documentation:

your other question is frontend. So will the app the user is having on its device be slower if there are many users? The straight answer is again: no. The only really limiting factors to speed are connection speeds of users. If you have a sensibly fast connection the database stuff will not be slower of faster whether you have 10 or 10k users...again please review this video to get to know why that is and why Firestore makes a really great \"horizontally scaling\" database that will not be beaten down even in really large usecases (and unless you do the next tiktok, you have absolutely not to worry about performance in these aspects at all.
